...ah, Jobs. :]
They give you something to do, something to work for, you meet new people AND get to help your employers.
There is never a dull day at a job you love, and if it is something you love to do, it doesn't even classify as a job, more as a hobby, even a pleasure...
In this post (and regardless of the fact that I have already posted a post today, --its my blog and I guess I shall do what I will with it--) is about... JOBS.
Tomorrow I shall be embarking on a real life job hunting experience. Now, slow down, its not like I've never had a job before. I've actually had plenty, though I never got paid for any of them. (raking leaves, shoveling snow, cutting grass, planting, weeding, digging, changing tires (right?! no money guys! like wtf..???) babysitting for neighbors etc, etc, etc..)
AND its not like I've never tried handing out resumes before (every local shop told me that I had to be AT LEAST 13 to work there... every time I applied. All. Throughout. Highschool. LOL.)
This time I am writing a post because I can simply feel it in my bones that I will get somewhere this time!.
I've made a bulk list of types of places that I plan on submitting resumes to, and a brief explanation of why I should be given a job there.
(Please Note, that these explanations are going to be written in the very witty dialogue that happens routinely in my head, when I answer people in real life I usually clean up, and tone down my responses, as to not so heavily offend people.)
- I Can Read: Seems stupid, but I'm sure its somewhere in the job description...
- I Am a Book Lover: English Major, I took out 2 books EVERY WEEK last summer.
- I Own Fashionable Librarian Clothes: Seriously, I'm kinda a fashoniesta, (I own librarian glasses too..) and though I have not yet proven this to you guys, I shall with pictures in the near future. - I Have NOT Gotten Any Younger: Last time I applied there the Librarian said... "I'm sorry, you have to be a bit older.." If he says that again this time, I'll have to simply reply with "Well, its not like I've gotten any younger since the last 4 times I applied"
- Kinda Awesome With Kids: All summer there are little programs for children, little kids go to the library with their parents, and Kids kinda love me :)
2) Restaurants/Bake Shops/Little Eateries:
- I LOVE Food: When people ask, "Is the Black Bean Soup with Side Stake good?" I can say "Yes!" because if I got the job there, I guarantee within one week of working there, I would have probably eaten everything on the menu.. at least twice.
- I Remember Orders Really Well: I can remember food orders really well, cause its food :P
- Being a Waitress is Such a Romantic Job..: It really is :), I feel like I could be waiting on my future true love *dreamy sigh*. Plus I have to be on my feet, this job will be beneficial for the ankle.
- I Own Chic Waitress-ie Clothing: You will never understand how many clothes I have... :/
- I Got Lots of Practice From My OWN Restaurant: My sister and I would play restaurant all the time when we were little. I was awesome lol.
- I love to Bake: ..At my childhood restaurant I would not only waitress, but I would MAKE the food. My sister always loved it. If she thought I was good then, I'm even better now :], and have a few of my own recipes up my sleeve.
- I REALLY Great With Children: Yes, there will be a few screaming kids in there, and there will also be a few screaming adults in there too. I am pretty sure that when adults begin acting like children I am the one who will save the day.
3) Clothing Stores/Jewelry Stores:
- Creative/Good Sense of Style: I'm great with colors, putting outfits together for store fronts etc etc. I would have a HUGE passion for what I am selling.
- The Store Will Make More Money Than They Think...: I will probably blow my whole pay check there, infact, I might have to pay them at the end of the week :PSo there we go. That wasn't so offensive after all!
Extremely Excited For Tomorrow!
NOW. For Job seeking attire.
Tomorrow is going to be 25 degrees!
I'm thinking my high waisted black circle skirt with gold buttons from H&M, but am a little unsure of what top.. perhaps a cute button up shirt ?
