Physio LowDown: The New Plan + You Can't Trick Me

In Physio we did:
1) Stationary Biking: Meh, same ol' same ol'...
2) Ultrasounds: To reduce swelling and pain, didn't feel anything at first, but it made a difference when I put weight on my foot.
3) Glides: They. Felt. Amazing. Basically, they pulled and stretched my foot in different ways and it was like a [much needed!] good stretch/massage.
4) Electric Impulse Therapy: They shock the muscles around the injury to get them moving again and build up strength (at least thats what I got from what they said)

But somewhere between steps 3 - 4 I was told to try standing, which I did. I winced, and she asked if it hurt. It didn't, but I said to her that I thought it should. lol.
Then she asked me to try a few steps. I was limping like crazy, but it didn't hurt. Apparently its all in my head.

NEW PLAN:
Minimal Walking with Boot
But, wait. Isn't that one step backwards (ha).
Nope.
Instead of walking hard core with my MoonBoot, we are going to minimize walking with the boot to get my foot transitioning from the boot to normal shoes. To do this my new exercising regime is...

  • Stationary Biking for 45 minutes, 2 times per day
  • The Usual Stretches
+ a Brand New State of the Art, Turn of the Century, Technologically Sound Exercise. And Its Called...

Standing!
  • Standing for 1 minute, and working up to 5 minutes, (there is some pain involved, but I am instructed to go as far as I can go)
  • Standing and shifting weight from one foot to another for about one minute and working up to five
  • Short walks in the house with a normal shoe on. [Note: Have not tried it yet, because I am a pansy, and I have no Idea where ANY of the shoes are for my right foot lol]

[The first two standing exercises I tried this for the last couple of days, and my foot hurts, but I guess a bit of pain is necessary.. even though when I did it in physio it did not hurt at all]

+ You Can't Trick Me Explanation...
The other day I am sitting on the couch without my moon boot on, my dad asked,
'could you grab me a glass of water?'
ME: 'sure' *grabs moon boot to walk to said place*
HIM: 'Never Mind'
ME: '?'
HIM: 'I thought I could trick you into walking'

(HAHAHA, cute, he thinks he can just trick me into walking normally again. Nice try, not quite yet though)
